adiPRENE is a proprietary technology developed and produced in-house by Adidas. Better known in sports circles as adiPURE, the design has been used in the World Cup since at least 1954 when it was worn by the German national football team, and was originally engineered to give professional soccer players the extra comfort and support necessary to perform for long periods at the highest levels of the game.  Since then it has seen continual improvement as technology has allowed for the development of new lighter materials. The culmination of all this research is the 2011 line of Adidas sports shoes, and in runner’s circles adiPRENE is the name of the game.

The cushioning gel is built into the heel of the shoe, and greatly reduces the damaging effects of repeated impact produced by running or jogging. adiPRENE works not only by cushioning and supporting the foot during activity, but also disperses the energy incurred during the shock of impact throughout the rest of the body. Built with the newest materials,  the shoe feels light and effortless throughout the stride, while meshing and ventilation ensure that your foot always stays fresh.
