I bought this for my wife who always has a water bottle with her; we have three little girls and someone is always is needing a drink. Water bottles with screw tops aren't feasible for kids or one handed use. She has been using a Rubbermaid water bottle with a flip up straw, but it is really hard to suck water out if you don't loosen the lid a quarter turn and even then the water doesn't come out that fast. However, loosening the lid makes the bottle leak if it is on its side even with the straw closed. I can't tell you how many times it has leaked in a backpack or on the car floor. Camelback has the solution! This thing is water tight all the time with or without the bite valve attached , yet it is very easy to drink out of even with the bite valve. The bite valve just seems to be extra protection against leakage. I personally don't like the bite valve, but even my 11 month old can use with water bottle with the bite valve on. I like this water bottle so much that I am going to have to buy one for myself. I especially like the fact that the straw can be flipped up and down while holding the water bottle with one hand. This is handy in the car while driving. Pros: - NO LEAKS (with the straw up or down!) - Bite valve can be removed with no change in function if preferred - Bite valve easy to use and does not restrict the flow of water much - Good flow of water with little effort - One handed operation (flip straw up and down) - Lid has a place to attach to bag or such with a carribiner Cons: - pricer than some, but you get what you pay for.

Have used for a sports bottle at gym for workouts. After purchasing several different brands I think this one works the best. No leaks at cap, easy to open, etc. All around great quality and replacement parts available if ever needed. First bought one. After using a while bought another for my mate.

I absolutely love this water bottle. The straw system is great. It doesn't leak, now matter how I set the bottle down. I work in restaurants and health code requires employees to have any drinks covered. This leads to a lot of waste of paper and Styrofoam cups, lids and straws. I found this hoping it would decrease my use of those products and it's my new favorite thing! It's great for the restaurant and for driving since there's no lid to remove. I can set it down on it's side in the car, no leaking, and just pick it up with one hand. Done. It's perfect for so many things. The hook is great for carrying as well. I see that replacement straws and mouthpieces are available too. I've had no need for them, but it's nice to know, as I am using it a lot.
