The more cymbals you have, though, the more positioning becomes important. To get a lot of cymbals to fit into a set up requires booms, or extensions from the base of the stands.
If you buy just the drums themselves, good hardware and cymbals will cost you hundreds of dollars extra. Try to find a reasonable price that comes with all that you need.
Then you get it home and on the gig and it does not sound the same. What's going on? Did they switch it at the store? Probably not, you just didn't hear it in the context of your other cymbals, ...
