Pros & Cons :if self defense is your main reason of purchase, i'd also look at the g-10 handle version (more grippy and safer for defense situations).

Pros & Cons :in short, this knife came razor-sharp right out of the box, and the speedsafe mechanism is the smoothest and easiest assisted-opening mechanism i've encountered (i also own a gerber 22-41525 mini-fast draw spring assisted opening stainless steel serrated knife, and have looked at equivalent offerings from crkt and smith & wesson, and the kershaw mechanism is much simpler to deploy.
