The name "spring Jam" led me to believe it would spring open. That's only partially true. I was disappointed to learn after getting it out of the bag that each of the segments has to be blown up. If you want to put it away after each use, the air has to be taken out of the segments. Needless to say it floated around in the pool most of the time, falling over when there wasn't enough air to hold it up.

The boys got this for Christmas last year. It was bigger than I had imagined. The ball is the size of a big beach ball and the basket thing is at least four feet across. We enjoyed playing with it and I though it was pretty good quality. I live in Florida and it survived all about 9 months .. including a full summer out in the hot sun.

This is probably our favorite pool toy. The whole family enjoys playing, adults and kids alike. This is a very well made pool toy. The ball has an outer fabric covering, which when wet, gives it added weight and makes it easier to shoot. This may be too heavy for very little children. I would think this is suitable for about age 8 and up due to the weight of the ball, when wet. All-in-all a lot of fun for a small amount of money. Also, goal folds up for easy storage.
