I like everything about this cargo: It is very easy to set up on top of our 2001 MDX (just put on top of the rack and tighten the clamps); it's very spacious (was able to fit all the bags for seven people for a week long trip); and comes with a lifetime warranty. There was a minor loss in mileage (about two miles per gallon, from 20 mpg to 18.5 mpg), and a little bit of wind noise at high speeds, but aside from that it is well worth the price. I definitely recommend this product.

We bought the Thule Ascent 1600 to use on our 2002 Mountaineer SUV and 2008 BMW 535. Ordering through Amazon was easy and saved us a bunch. We had a minor mix-up with ABF on delivery, but the box arrived in perfect condition just a day later than the expected delivery date. Although the box is lightweight for its size, use two people to get it up on the roof. It is very easy to install: get it on your cross bars, orient as far back on your roof as will allow, and tighten down on the knobs. Takes less than 10 minutes to put on, even faster coming off. On our Mountaineer, the box fits nicely to the back of the car. No wind noise whatsoever and our mileage dropped about 1 mpg. On the BMW we use the BMW tranporter racks and the box fits great. Thule does not show the box as being a fit for the BMW, we've had no problems. The box is very similar in dimensions to the BMW-branded box you can order through the dealer at nearly twice the price. Wind noise is noticeable on the BMW but not annoying and our mpg drops by 2. We fit a lot into the box. On a recent ski trip to Vermont, six adults/teens in the car, five pairs of skis, boots, poles, helmets and ski wear in the box. Without the box we couldn't take six on a trip like this with all the gear. Another ski trip we took the sedan with four adults and gear. We get 50% better mileage with the sedan vs the SUV so it is great being able to take the smaller car. We highly recommend the Ascent 1600. Works great on sedans and SUVs. Easy and secure to install. It's everything it is advertised to be.
