Volleyball Net

Volleyball is a storied game that has been in existence since at least 1895. It has since gone on to become a sanctioned and official Olympic team sport, and is played in a variety of settings from indoor gyms, to clay courts, to beaches. Volleyball is an easy sport to pick up but a hard one to master, and it only requires three things: a volleyball, a volleyball net, and some players. There are a number of factors that make summer the ideal time to play volleyball, and in turn make volleyball the ideal sport to play in the summer:

• Perfect Conditions: At its heart, volleyball is really a game that is meant to be played outdoors, but often weather can make this difficult. Forget the cold, anything more than a gentle breeze can send the ball off target. In the summer though, wind speed is generally far more mild making this a negligible issue.

• The Beach: There is a reason beach volleyball took the world by storm, and its not just because of the eye candy. The beach is a natural regulator for gaming conditions because it offers plenty of opportunities to both cool down and get warm. Is the summer day a scorcher? Simply take a break from the game and go for a dip in the ocean. Is the beach a little chilly? Play a hard game of volleyball and you’ll warm right up. The best part is that many public beaches already have volleyball nets and balls set up and ready to be used by the public.

• Travel: Summer is a great opportunity to take time off work and see the world. For those looking for a more social vacation (less museums, more modern culture) meeting new people is often the whole point. Fortunately volleyball, like soccer, is a sport that crosses national boundaries. What that means for you is that pick up games are waiting to be played virtually anywhere in the world!
